The following is an experimental thesis whose purpose is to apply a novel approach called Decomposition Into Directional Components (DEDICOM) to the study of the economic sector regarding Telecommunications. This is organized in two main parts. The first one is about the economic theory related to the study of Network Economics and, in particular, of the segment inherent to the provision of Telecom services (internet, voice, data and SMS) considering various players present within the market and the potential relationships between them. This part closes with a brief representation of the methodology used, the phases of the sector's life cycle (also considering the evolution of technology) and the regulatory changes that led the sector from being a natural monopoly to the creation of competition through the entry of new companies. The second section relates to the research carried out on the European Telecommunications market. Starting from a historical introduction on the process of liberalization of the networks, we then moved on to the analysis of the various components of the dataset, constructed using indices contained in the company balance sheets. To conclude we find the results for the period 2011-2020 obtained by constructing three clusters of companies to better focus attention on similarities through observations that allow having precise indications on recent trends.

Abstract
To conclude we find the results for the period 2011-2020 obtained by constructing three clusters of companies to better focus attention on similarities through observations that allow having precise indications on recent trends.È consentito all'utente scaricare e condividere i documenti disponibili a testo pieno in UNITESI UNIPV nel rispetto della licenza Creative Commons del tipo CC BY NC ND.
