The improvement of energy efficiency is one of the fundamental objectives to be achieved in the context of preserving the planet. In this regard, cogeneration and district heating are techniques that allow for high fuel savings and reduced emissions compared to conventional systems. The subject of this thesis is the integration of an electrical storage system in order to guarantee a more flexible and performing operating structure, decrease the consumption of natural gas managing to eliminate the use of one of the endothermic engines used by the system to satisfy the load. The scope is to understand if and how a battery storage system (in place for safety reason) can be better operated. At first under an economic standpoint my work wants to answer the question how such "better management" can be formulated, secondly what the sensitive parameters are and finally how to carry out the comparison between the solutions with and without a BESS. This problem is formulated and solved as a MILP problem.

Abstract
This problem is formulated and solved as a MILP problem.È consentito all'utente scaricare e condividere i documenti disponibili a testo pieno in UNITESI UNIPV nel rispetto della licenza Creative Commons del tipo CC BY NC ND.
