Plio-Pleistocene sedimentation rates in the Po Plain and Venetian-Friulan basin: 3D Horizon reconstruction and effects of climate cycles

The paper is focused on the calculation of the sedimentation rates relating to the recent geological history of the Veneto-Friulano basin, in a period between the base of the Pliocene period and the base of the Calabrian age. To obtain the surfaces, and consequently calculate the volumes in place, the seismic lines of the Eni dataset were used, together with the catalog of the wells of the ViDEPI project (Visibility of data relating to oil exploration activities in Italy), processing the data with the Move and Decision Space software. The thesis highlights the relationships between the variations of climate cycles and the associated sedimentation rates.

L'elaborato è focalizzato sul calcolo dei tassi di sedimentazione relativi alla recente storia geologica del bacino Veneto-Friulano, in un periodo compreso tra la base dell'epoca pliocenica e la base dell'età calabriana. Per ottenere le superfici, e conseguentemente calcolare i volumi in posto, si sono utilizzate le linee sismiche del dataset Eni, unitamente al catalogo dei pozzi del progetto ViDEPI (Visibilità dei dati afferenti all'attività di esplorazione petrolifera in Italia) elaborando i dati con i software Move e Decision Space. Nella tesi si mettono in evidenza le relazioni tra le variazioni dei cicli climatici ed i tassi di sedimentazione ad essi associati.
