Acquired pedophilia is known as a neurological condition, that comes as a result of a brain injury causing deviant sexual behavior as well as the lack of awareness for the nature of the criminal act committed by the person and of the capacity of moral reasoning, related to specific brain lesions and cognitive malfunctions Despite the evidence from the neuroscientific research about its neural basis, cases of acquired pedophilia are on the focus of the transdisciplinary approach because of their complexity regarding the legal context. Considered as forensic cases they are judged based on the reasoning of mental insanity and the lack of capacity to will because of the consequences that the brain pathology brings. However, there are limitations of using the neuroscientific evidence in court that are expected to be reduced through the strengthened collaboration between neuroscientists and legal experts. The future of analyzing the cases of acquired pedophilia relies on a direct effect of the neurological proof to the legal verdicts and codes regarding the sexual crimes, taking in consideration also their implication with ethical issues.

Abstract
The future of analyzing the cases of acquired pedophilia relies on a direct effect of the neurological proof to the legal verdicts and codes regarding the sexual crimes, taking in consideration also their implication with ethical issues.È consentito all'utente scaricare e condividere i documenti disponibili a testo pieno in UNITESI UNIPV nel rispetto della licenza Creative Commons del tipo CC BY NC ND.
