Introduction: Multiple sclerosis is a neurodegenerative, inflammatory and demyelinating disease that affects the central nervous system. A major problem is the lack of balance, which leads to increased swaying and thus the risk of falls. Objective: The aim is to evaluate the changes produced on static balance following combined aerobic and strength training and adapted to the subjects' abilities. Materials and methods: The sample consisted of 8 persons with relapsing remitting multiple sclerosis. All participated in an individual, supervised training programme once a week and two unsupervised. The duration of the programme was 9 months, and the protocol consist of a warm-up phase with specific work on balance and stability, combined training and a cool-down phase. Results: The average length of the OA ellipse modified from 193+95.7 mm to 180+83.5 mm, with pre-intervention OC 342+249 mm post-intervention 306+233 mm. There was an increase in the surface area of the OA ellipse of 33.18% while at OC of 25.27%. The data for the eccentricity of the OA ellipse where p=0.016 and OC p=0.031. Delta X at OA from 21.3+16.4 to 15.1+7.65 mm and OC from 36.5+35.8 to 28.1+32.3 mm. Whereas, Delta Y at OA 18+11.1 to 17.6+7.39 mm and OC 27.7+13.4 to 20.6+13.4 mm. Conclusions: The difference between initial and final values were evident, although not statistically significant. So, it is possible to conclude that the subjects analysed achieved improvements in static balance.
Mentre, Delta Y a OA 18+11.1 a 17.6+7.39 mm e OC 27.7+13.4 a 20.6+13.4 mm.
