La corretta implementazione dell'automazione robotica dei processi (RPA) nel settore bancario

The purpose of this study is to increase the understanding of the key factors that influence the successful deployment of RPA in the banking sector. RPA is highly in demand in this sector that, in addition, proved to be growing rapidly with the technological rise. Based on a case study of an RPA project in a large international bank founded in Italy, it was possible to observe the actions made on every stage of the RPA lifecycle: process discovery, design, development, test, deployment, and maintenance. Moreover, being part of the RPA consulting team of the Bank, I had the opportunity to share expertise with leading experts in the RPA sector. I also was able to work with RPA Center of Excellence, process owners, analyze the delivery methodology that was adopted in this project and observe other elements that contributed to the success of RPA implementation. Finally, this research provides three real examples of automated banking processes and the benefits they deliver.

L'obiettivo di questa tesi è di aumentare la conoscenza dei fattori critici di successo che impattano l'implementazione dell'RPA nel settore bancario. L'RPA è molto richiesto in questo settore, che inoltre, cresce rapidamente grazie allo sviluppo tecnologico. Questa tesi è basata su un case study di un progetto RPA in una grande banca internazionale fondata in Italia, quindi è stato possibile osservare le azioni intraprese in ogni fase del ciclo di vita dell'RPA: analisi del processo, progettazione, sviluppo della soluzione, test, pubblicazione e manutenzione del processo automatizzato. Inoltre, facendo parte del team di consulenza RPA della Banca, ho avuto l'opportunità di ottenere le competenze dai massimi esperti e descrivere in questo lavoro i best practice dell'RPA, collaborare con il Centro di Eccellenza e i process owners dei processi bancari della Banca, analizzare la delivery methodology adottata in questo progetto ed individuare altri elementi che contribuiscono al successo nell'implementazione dell'RPA. Infine, questa ricerca fornisce tre esempi reali dei processi bancari automatizzati e i vantaggi che l'automazione può portare alle banche.
