The aim of this thesis is to analyze how decisive and important is the teaching of physical education at school, and thus its incorporation as an important subject starting from primary school and onwards. A focus will be placed on the role of the school and what should be integrated for the work to be improved, and subsequently on the role of the teacher and the type of preparation needed for him/her. Subsequently, there are proposals and suggestions for work plans that could be adopted by those who choose to embark on the path of teaching, and an illustration of the correct growth and development of skills according to the school level and age of the pupils. The influence of the COVID-19 pandemic on physical activity and school physical activity and the problems that have arisen as a result will also be analyzed. The information was mainly taken from books and articles published on scientific journals. These sources were used to understand the correct planning to be applied to promote the physical and psychological growth of young pupils, the importance of trained teachers, and to analyze the importance of movement from a young age. In addition, an attempt is made to understand the negative effects of the pandemic. The paper first discusses the importance of general physical activity, especially in the school years, with a focus on appropriate facilities and the importance of teachers in imparting knowledge and submitting lessons suitable for each developmental stage. Subsequently, attention is paid to teaching proposals that must be suitable for every age and the negative consequences of COVID-19. The paper highlights how fundamental it is to have teachers with extensive knowledge and adequately prepared to respect and foster the growth of young students and the importance of physical education from the earliest school years. The paper raises awareness of how essential it is to respect the growth parameters of each pupil without accelerating or skipping key steps in their physical development, starting with the basic movement schemes and coordination skills useful for good body control. The importance of properly equipped workplaces and the negative impact of the pandemic on physical activity, especially in young people, is also highlighted.
