Throughout his life, Giovanni Pascoli added to his poetic and literary activity even the lesser known one as a professor. Immediately after completing his university studies, in fact, he began his career as a high school teacher and then moved on to university teaching in the last years of his life. During the last years of teaching at the University of Bologna Pascoli divided himself between the Faculty of Letters and the Scuola Pedagogica, a two-year course set up to complete the training of elementary teachers. In my thesis work I tried to deepen some issues related to the world of Pascoli teaching, focusing in particular on the lessons held by Pascoli to the teachers of the Scuola Pedagogica and proposing a critical edition for the academic year 1907-1908. The first chapter outlines Pascoli's experience as a professor in the various Italian cities - from his debut as a high school teacher in Matera to his arrival in Bologna as a substitute for Carducci - with a brief mention of the history and development of the institution of the Scuola di Perfezionamento ai maestri. In the second part of the thesis, I dealt with the philological question concerning the witnesses now kept in the Archives of Casa Pascoli and who transmit the text of the lessons drawn up by the pupil Mario Vivarelli. To date we have a typewritten copy for all the academic years and, for the year 1907-1908 only, also of the manuscript copy, but for both witnesses we do not yet have a certain dating. After having proceeded with the comparison between manuscript and typescript, in order to provide a first survey on the materials at our disposal and in the future to establish which is the witness on which to base the critical text; through the analysis of the same and through external sources such as letters and documents, I tried to demonstrate how the typescripts in our possession are reasonably postdated with respect to the course. In the final part of the work, after having briefly summarized the content of all the lessons of the academic year under examination, and after having generally traced the connections and common themes that exist between these and the other Pascolian works of the period in order to identify the path made by Pascoli, I deepened the themes, sources and links of two specific lessons. In the appendix I then reported the text of the typescript integrating it with philological notes and commentary notes on the content of the lessons.

Abstract
In the appendix I then reported the text of the typescript integrating it with philological notes and commentary notes on the content of the lessons.È consentito all'utente scaricare e condividere i documenti disponibili a testo pieno in UNITESI UNIPV nel rispetto della licenza Creative Commons del tipo CC BY NC ND.
