The objective of the present study was to assess the fluoride release/uptake capacities of different fissure sealants. Three different fissure sealants (Fuji Triage, Fissurit FX, Grandio Seal) were esamined. Sixteen discs of each material were prepared and stored in deionized water at 37 °C. Specimens were made by placing each material into a plastic split mold, with inside dimensions of 8 mm (diameter) by 2 mm (height). The surface area of the cylindrical specimens was approximately 1.51 cm2. Each water sample was diluted V/V with buffer solution TISAB III (Orion Research Inc, Boston, MA, USA) and measured for fluoride concentration, in ppm, under stirring condition, using a combination of fluoride electrode (Orion GP 1 S/N 1 38 2 4, Orion Research Inc, Boston, MA, USA) connected to an expandable ion analyzer (Orion 720A, Orion Research Inc, Boston, MA, USA). Standard curves between 1 and 100 ppm F- were used to calibrate the electrode. Cumulative fluoride release was measured on days 1, 2, 3, 5, 7, 21, 35 and 49, then two different fluoride-containing materials was applied to all the groups tested, and fluoride release (after reuptake) was measured on days 56, 70, 84.
L’obiettivo della presente ricerca è stato quello di valutare il rilascio di fluoro e le capacità di ricarica di materiali per la sigillatura dei solchi. Sono stati esaminati tre materiali per la sigillatura dei solchi (Fuji Triage, Fissurit FX, Grandio Seal). Sedici dischi di ogni materiale sono stati preparati ed incubati in acqua deionizzata a 37°C. La superficie di ogni campione era di circa 1.51 cm2. Per testare la concentrazione di fluoruro, in ppm, in movimento, ogni campione d’acqua è stato diluito V/V con una soluzione amplificatrice TISAB III (Orion Research, Inc, Boston, MA, USA) e saggiato usando un elettrodo ione specifico (Orion GP1S/N13824, Orion Research, Inc, Boston, MA, USA) connesso ad un analizzatore di ioni (Orion 720A, Orion Research, Inc, Boston, MA, USA). Per calibrare l’elettrodo è stata usata una curva standard tra 1 e 100 ppm F-. Il rilascio cumulativo di fluoro è stato misurato nei giorni 1, 2, 3, 5, 7, 21, 35, e 49 di incubazione. Poi su ogni gruppo sono stati applicati due materiali contenenti fluoro e il rilascio cumulativo di fluoro (dopo ricarica) è stato misurato nei giorni 56, 70, 84.
