Data found in this thesis are taken from the study “Prospective Longitudinal Observational Study for the Improvement of the Detection and Treatment of Pain in the Emergency Room” carried out in the ED of IRCCS Policlinico San Matteo Foundation in Pavia after approval by Ethics Committee on 20/11/2017 (Prot 20170004196). This is a monocentric, observational, longitudinal and prospective study. Data have been collected by the student together with the OSM acute pain assessment Lab. The thesis will analyze aspects such as the appropriateness of pain assessment, the pharmacological treatment of pain, the efficacy of therapy and relative time-to-analgesia. Furthermore, the level of satisfaction and perception of the patients about medical and nursing care will be considered. In conclusion, results will be compared with those from current national and international literature.
