This thesis investigates the category of rhythm in cinema. Through a historical analysis of the meaning of the term, according to theoretical speculations, directorial practices, and twentieth-century technical innovations, hints, and models of analysis are collected, useful for deepening and searching for rhythm in the two feature films by Wes Anderson. In this research, particular attention is given to audiovisual editing, animation cinema, and music, central subjects for a description of rhythm in the cinematographic construction.

La tesi indaga la categoria del ritmo nel cinema. Attraverso un'analisi storica del significato del termine, secondo le speculazioni teoriche, le prassi registiche, e le innovazioni tecniche del Novecento, vengono raccolti spunti e ripresi modelli di analisi, utili all'approfondimento e alla ricerca del ritmo nei due lungometraggi di Wes Anderson. Nella ricerca particolare attenzione viene riservata all'editing audiovisivo, al cinema d'animazione e alla musica, materie centrali per una descrizione del concetto di ritmo nella costruzione cinematografica.

Abstract
