One of the first uses of cannabis was the treatment of pain. The endocannabinoid system exerts its analgesic action through complex mechanisms involving the central nervous system and it’s proposed for cannabinoids, a role in treating all types of pain: acute, post-operative, chronic, both neuropathic, that inflammatory origin. Cannabinoids seem to act on both CB1 receptors, which are located in areas related to pain; that on CB2 receptors which have an anti-hyperalgesic activity in models of acute, chronic and neuropathic pain especially of inflammatory origin, through inhibition release of pro-inflammatory factors. The scientific literature contains numerous examples of beneficial effects of cannabis and synthetic derivatives of Δ9-THC. Cannabis has been proven effective in post-operative pain, pain associated with advanced cancer, the HIV-associated sensory neuropathy and pain of various kinds.

Abstract
Cannabis has been proven effective in post-operative pain, pain associated with advanced cancer, the HIV-associated sensory neuropathy and pain of various kinds.È consentito all'utente scaricare e condividere i documenti disponibili a testo pieno in UNITESI UNIPV nel rispetto della licenza Creative Commons del tipo CC BY NC ND.
