The pandemic caused by the COVID-19 virus has had a tremendous impact on many parts of society, including the mental health and well-being of parents. Even under normal conditions, pregnancy and the postpartum period may be a time of great anxiety for many parents. However, the added stress and uncertainty brought by the epidemic have made these obstacles even more difficult to overcome. The purpose of this review thesis is to investigate the effect that the COVID-19 epidemic has had on the anxiety that parents experience throughout pregnancy and after giving birth. We are going to examine the various factors that contribute to parental anxiety during the pandemic by conducting a comprehensive review of the literature. These factors include social support, financial insecurity, increased caregiving responsibilities, and the potential risks of contracting the virus during pregnancy. In general, the purpose of this thesis is to offer significant insights into the distinct difficulties that were experienced by parents during the COVID-19 epidemic, as well as to inform the development of interventions and methods that supported the mental health and well-being of those parents.
