Abstract
Despite comprising half of the global population, women and girls are frequently denied representation in politics and are excluded from decision-making processes that impact their lives. Empowering women in politics is essential for several reasons: it is significant not only for women but also for society as a whole and the economy at the political level. Women's perspectives and experiences are not adequately represented in the development of policies and laws that affect society as a whole, such as those related to healthcare, education, and economic development, due to a lack of female representation in politics. Social media has evolved into a powerful tool for raising, empowering, and supporting women in the modern era. Social media has played a significant role in the growth and empowerment of women in various ways, including drawing global attention to women's rights and challenging discrimination and stereotypes worldwide. This study sought to answer the fundamental question, "Does social media have a positive impact on women's political empowerment?"È consentito all'utente scaricare e condividere i documenti disponibili a testo pieno in UNITESI UNIPV nel rispetto della licenza Creative Commons del tipo CC BY NC ND.
