This theoretical thesis integrates the intricate analyses of the interactions among music, emotions, and memory. Specifically, it elucidates the comprehension of these processes in populations affected by dementia and Alzheimer’s disease. The principal emphasis lies on the cognitive processes through which music elicits emotional memories in individuals, including clinical cases. It compiles various theoretical frameworks that articulate the underlying mechanisms. It delves into music’s capacity to provoke emotional reactions and autobiographical recollections. Furthermore, it examines the potential implications for therapeutic interventions predicated on music’s ability to enhance the quality of life for individuals with Alzheimer’s disease and dementia, as well as for their caregivers. Notably, a more favorable impact was observed when music interventions utilized familiar tunes as opposed to unfamiliar ones. This conclusion is significant and warrants consideration when implementing music therapy to optimize outcomes for patients. Key words: music-evoked, memory, emotions, Alzheimer’s disease, dementia
