This thesis explores the role of strategic alliances in enhancing organisational resilience and promoting sustainability practices in multinational corporations. In response to global challenges such as climate change, geopolitical tensions, and rapid technological advancements, partnerships enable companies to share resources and foster inter-organisational learning. The study integrates a comprehensive literature review with the development of a theoretical framework based on the Relational View and the Resilient Response Framework. This model is applied to four major technology companies—Amazon Web Services, IBM, Google, and Microsoft—to analyse their collaborative strategies. The findings highlight how strategic partnerships help firms adapt to unexpected events and accelerate the adoption of sustainable practices. The research contributes to the academic debate by bridging the gap between resilience, sustainability, and strategic alliances, offering a practical guide for business leaders to design effective collaboration strategies in today’s complex and evolving global markets.
Questa tesi analizza il ruolo delle alleanze strategiche nel rafforzare la resilienza organizzativa e nell’integrare pratiche di sostenibilità nelle multinazionali. In un contesto segnato da cambiamenti climatici, tensioni geopolitiche e rapide innovazioni tecnologiche, le partnership permettono alle aziende di condividere risorse e favorire l’apprendimento inter-organizzativo. La ricerca combina un’analisi approfondita della letteratura con lo sviluppo di un modello teorico basato sulla Relational View e sul Resilient Response Framework. Questo framework viene applicato a quattro multinazionali del settore tecnologico—Amazon Web Services, IBM, Google e Microsoft—per studiarne le strategie di collaborazione. I risultati dimostrano come le alleanze strategiche aiutino le imprese ad affrontare eventi imprevisti e a implementare pratiche sostenibili. Il lavoro offre un contributo accademico colmando il divario tra resilienza, sostenibilità e alleanze strategiche, fornendo al contempo una guida pratica per i manager che vogliono sviluppare strategie di collaborazione efficaci in un mercato globale complesso e in continua evoluzione.
