This thesis explores the strategic management practices driving environmental sus-tainability within the context of international business, with a specific focus on Ama-zon India. Through a mixed-methods approach, including surveys and interviews with Amazon employees, the study examines the effectiveness of Amazon’s sustainability initiatives, such as eco-friendly packaging, emission control, and renewable energy adoption. The research highlights how these strategies not only support environmental goals but also align with Amazon's broader operational and customer-centric objec-tives. The findings underscore that sustainability is becoming a core aspect of strategic decision-making, helping businesses like Amazon balance growth with environmental responsibility. The literature review situates Amazon’s practices within broader sustainability frame-works, illustrating how companies can leverage globalization, innovation, and custom-er demands to optimize environmental performance. The study identifies key areas such as recycling initiatives, the use of electric vehicles, and the transition to sustaina-ble manufacturing as pivotal to Amazon’s efforts in reducing its environmental foot-print. These findings contribute to the academic understanding of how large corpora-tions implement sustainable strategies in practice. This thesis demonstrates that Amazon’s approach to sustainability serves as a model for integrating environmental responsibility into the core of business strategy. The study emphasizes that sustainability is not only a response to regulatory pressures but also a critical driver of competitive advantage and long-term success in the global business landscape.
