This thesis examines the regulatory frameworks that govern the digital sector in Europe, with a particular focus on the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the Digital Services Act (DSA), and the Digital Markets Act (DMA). These regulations have a pivotal role in shaping the future of digital governance, as they address critical issues of data privacy, competition, and the responsibilities of online platforms. From a fundamental rights perspective, the GDPR has been instrumental in protecting individuals' privacy, while the DSA and DMA are central to ensuring fairness, transparency, and accountability in the digital economy. The thesis also explores the economic implications of these regulations, analyzing how they balance innovation with the protection of consumer interests and market fairness. By navigating the complex intersection of rights, regulation, and market dynamics, this study underscores the importance of a regulatory framework that not only safeguards fundamental freedoms but also fosters a competitive and sustainable digital economy in Europe.

Il paesaggio digitale in Europa sta subendo una trasformazione profonda, guidata dai rapidi avanzamenti tecnologici e dalla crescente dipendenza dai dati, dall'intelligenza artificiale (IA) e dalle piattaforme online. Questa tesi esamina i quadri normativi che regolano il settore digitale in Europa, con particolare attenzione al Regolamento Generale sulla Protezione dei Dati (GDPR), al Digital Services Act (DSA) e al Digital Markets Act (DMA). Queste normative svolgono un ruolo cruciale nel plasmare il futuro della governance digitale, affrontando questioni fondamentali come la privacy dei dati, la concorrenza e le responsabilità delle piattaforme online.
