In recent years, there has been a noticeable shift towards sustainable practices, with various industries, including the mobility sector, actively setting and pursuing eco-friendly goals. Following an increase in the general public care for the environment, and the introduction of more stringent regulations, companies have started to be more conscious about their environmental impact and waste generation. They are increasingly integrating sustainability into their business models by investing in low-emission transport solutions, adopting circular economy principles, and enhancing energy efficiency. As global transportation-related emissions continue to rise, urgent action is needed to address the environmental and social impacts of current mobility systems. In particular, road transport is a major contributor to pollution, leading to high levels of greenhouse gas emissions and resource consumption, and the growing demand for mobility continues to challenge the industry’s efforts. In this context, innovation can greatly contribute to redefining business models to align with sustainable goals, finding new strategies promoting sufficiency, and creating new technologies and designs. This thesis aims to give a comprehensive overview while digging deeper into exemplary cases of sustainable practices within the industry. It presents the findings of a qualitative research on how companies integrate sustainability-oriented initiatives and innovations into their strategies, drawing on a sample of companies specializing in different segments within the mobility sector. The analysis highlights key aspects in sustainable mobility, like technological advancements, collaborative efforts, and targets. The findings reveal a strong interconnectedness among different business types, although surely sustainability efforts and approaches vary across companies. All in all, an increasing commitment to integrating sustainability into long-term strategies and operations stands out from this study.

Abstract
All in all, an increasing commitment to integrating sustainability into long-term strategies and operations stands out from this study.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
