The Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), was introduced in 2013 by China and is one of the most ambitious global development project of the 21st century. It aims to enhance regional connectivity and economic cooperation through extensive infrastructure projects. While the BRI offers significant financial opportunities, it also presents substantial geopolitical challenges, especially for regional powers like India and Japan. This thesis will explore a historical overview of China’s relationship with India and Japan and discuss the Political, Economic, and Military counters of India and Japan concerning China’s BRI. The thesis will also take a case study of Bangladesh, where all three countries, China, India, and Japan, are trying to compete in various sectors. Through qualitative analysis and case studies, this thesis will contribute to the broader discourse on regional stability and strategic balance in Asia.
