La marginación y la voz del poeta: un análisis de Poeta en Nueva York de Federico García Lorca.

The following paper examines Federico García Lorca’s Poet in New York, focusing on the historical, cultural and biographical context that influenced the writing of this work. It analyzes the evolution of the poet’s writing, from its early folkloristic stages to its surrealist stage, as reflected in the work and in his experiences in New York and Cuba. This study critically analyzes the book, paying special attention to the editorial history of Poeta New York and its final version. The themes and symbols present are then examined through selected excerpts from the book. Then, the analysis addresses one of the main themes, marginalization, which is divided into different aspects: existential suffering; the dichotomy between urban reality and the inner reality of the poet; the opposition between urban reality and the mythical or primitive; the criticism and denunciation of New York society and, finally, the figure of the oppressed and marginalized, towards whom Lorca expresses deep solidarity. The present thesis aims to offer an interpretation of Lorca’s writing, centered on Poeta en Nueva York and on the theme of marginalization, which is evident in numerous poems of the book. To do this, a critical and literary analysis approach is used, examining the figure of Lorca, his writing, the editorial history of the work and the poems that make up it, through critical and biographical studies about the poet and his poetry collection. The work demonstrates how Poet in New York reflects, through symbols, marginalization and alienation, also becoming a work of social denunciation, which evidences the oppression of the New York city.

El siguiente trabajo examina Poeta en Nueva York de Federico García Lorca, centrándose en el contexto histórico, cultural y biográfico que influyeron en la escritura de esta obra. Se analiza la evolución de la escritura del poeta, desde sus primeras etapas folcloristas hasta su etapa surrealista, tal como se refleja en la obra y en sus experiencias en Nueva York y Cuba. Este estudio analiza críticamente el poemario, prestando especial atención a la historia redaccional de Poeta Nueva York y a su versión definitiva. A continuación, se examinan, a través de fragmentos seleccionados del poemario, los temas y los símbolos presentes. Seguidamente, el análisis aborda una de las temáticas principales, la marginación, que se divide en distintos aspectos: el sufrimiento existencial; la dicotomía entre realidad urbana y realidad interior del poeta; la contraposición entre la realidad urbana y la mítica o primitiva; la crítica y denuncia a la sociedad neoyorquina y, finalmente, la figura de los oprimidos y marginados, hacia quienes Lorca manifiesta profunda solidaridad. La presente tesis tiene como finalidad ofrecer una interpretación de la escritura de Lorca, centrada en Poeta en Nueva York y en la temática de la marginación, que se evidencia en numerosos poemas del poemario. Para ello, se emplea un enfoque de análisis crítico y literario, examinando la figura de Lorca, su escritura, la historia redaccional de la obra y los poemas que lo integran, a través de estudios críticos y biográficos acerca del poeta y de su poemario. El trabajo demuestra como Poeta en Nueva York refleja, a través de símbolos, la marginación y la alienación, convirtiéndose también en una obra de denuncia social, que evidencia la opresión de la ciudad neoyorquina.
