This thesis analysis the growing phenomenon of digital detox and its impact on human behaviour, specifically the health consequences of the overuse of digital devices. The study investigates how the frequent use of technological devices can cause both physical and mental problems and how these issues lead individuals to adopt digital detox practices. The study has been conducted based on a mixed approach, including qualitative interviews and a survey of 160 participants aged 15-35 across the world. The findings reveal that health problems are a statistically significant motivator for the adoption of digital detox strategies. Potential adopters, specifically, exhibit a greater propensity towards methods such as self-regulated screen time and technology-free experiences. The results show that demographic factors, such as gender and origin, also influence the detox approaches. Theoretically, the study reinforces frameworks like Technostress Theory, Self-Determination Theory and the Health Belief Model, suggesting that digital detox represents a coping mechanism for reclaiming autonomy and well-being in an increasingly connected world. In terms of managerial implications, the research shows how a strategic integration of digital well-being into corporate ESG strategies can enhance the “S” (social) dimension of ESG reporting and lead to gain a competitive advantage in economic performance.

Abstract
In terms of managerial implications, the research shows how a strategic integration of digital well-being into corporate ESG strategies can enhance the “S” (social) dimension of ESG reporting and lead to gain a competitive advantage in economic performance.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
