The present study aims to explore the intergenerational transmission of attachment in families made up of gay fathers and their children born to surrogacy. The sample consists of 44 fathers and 22 children, coming from 22 families. All fathers were administered a semi-structured interview, the Adult Attachment Interview (AAI), to determine their attachment style, while their children were administered another semi-structured interview, the Friends and Family Interview (FFI), for the same purpose. After describing the distribution of attachment styles of the interviewed fathers and children, the results were compared with the pattern distribution found in three peer-reviewed studies, and no significant differences were found. To investigate the intergenerational transmission of attachment, a bivariate correlation was performed between the coherence of mind of fathers and the coherence of mind of their children. The results indicate that, as fathers' attachment security increases, so does their children's attachment security.

Abstract
The results indicate that, as fathers' attachment security increases, so does their children's attachment security.È consentito all'utente scaricare e condividere i documenti disponibili a testo pieno in UNITESI UNIPV nel rispetto della licenza Creative Commons del tipo CC BY NC ND.
