In recent years, the tobacco industry has undergone a profound transformation, driven by growing attention to public health, regulatory evolution, and the emergence of new harm-reduction technologies. In this context, non-combustible products such as e-cigarettes, heated tobacco products, and nicotine pouches have established themselves as strategic pillars for the major multinationals in the sector. At the same time, the rise of e-commerce has revolutionized the ways tobacco and nicotine substitute products are sold and distributed. While the digitalization of sales has expanded accessibility and allowed for more personalized offerings, it has also presented significant challenges for market players: most notably, age verification, compliance with diverse national regulations, and the ethical management of digital communication. Analyzing how SMEs and major competitors address these issues provides a valuable perspective for understanding the sector’s future dynamics. Within this research, a case study was developed on web scraping techniques, applied to a set of online retailers in the UK market, with the aim of systematically collecting data on the nicotine pouches category. This approach enabled the creation of a unified product database, which was subsequently analyzed through an interactive dashboard in Power BI. In conclusion, the thesis highlights the strategic importance of technological and digital innovation in the evolution of the tobacco industry. While the transition towards reduced-risk products now appears irreversible, companies’ ability to integrate advanced analytical tools and effective digital strategies will be a decisive factor for future success, within a constantly evolving regulatory and competitive landscape.

Abstract
While the transition towards reduced-risk products now appears irreversible, companies’ ability to integrate advanced analytical tools and effective digital strategies will be a decisive factor for future success, within a constantly evolving regulatory and competitive landscape.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
