La plusdotazione e il modello STIMA per la valorizzazione dei talenti e della creatività

Extraordinary endowment, or giftedness, is a topic that has been discussed since the last century and which has changed over time, in close connection with the different theories of intelligence. Today we have arrived at a very precise idea of the meaning of giftedness and different tests for recognition have been validated. The importance of accompanying and supporting the talents and creativity of gifted children has led to the creation of specific educational plans called STEAM. Through various field research, numerous students and teachers were tested to verify the possible positive effects of these approaches. The results show how it is possible to create engaging and stimulating study plans for both teachers and students, integrating various disciplines and managing to cultivate the talents and creativity of gifted children. In Italy a new teaching model called STIMA has been developed. Referring to the STEAM idea, this new project integrates a strong attention to the socio-emotional aspects of the gifted child, allowing him not only to develop his talents, but also to obtain numerous educational and social skills capable of preparing him best for the future .

La plusdotazione, o giftedness, è un argomento che viene trattato già dal secolo scorso e che è mutato nel tempo, in stretto legame con le differenti teorie dell’intelligenza. Oggi siamo arrivati a un’idea ben precisa del significato di plusdotazione e sono stati convalidati differenti test per il riconoscimento. L’importanza di accompagnare e sostenere i talenti e la creatività dei bambini gifted ha portato alla realizzazione di specifici piani didattici chiamati STEAM. Attraverso diverse ricerche sul campo sono stati testati numerosi studenti e docenti per verificare gli eventuali effetti positivi di questi approcci. I risultati mostrano come sia possibile creare piani di studio coinvolgenti e stimolanti sia per insegnanti che per studenti, integrando svariate discipline e riuscendo a coltivare i talenti e la creatività dei bambini gifted. In Italia è stato sviluppato un nuovo modello di didattica chiamato STIMA. Rifacendosi all’idea STEAM, questo nuovo progetto, integra una forte attenzione agli aspetti socio-emotivi del bambino gifted, consentendogli non solo di sviluppare i propri talenti, ma anche di ottenere numerose competenze didattiche e sociali in grado di preparalo al meglio per il futuro.
