The 25 January Revolution in Egypt was a pivotal event for Egyptian society; it irreversibly reinvented the dynamic of Egyptian social movements, specifically the feminist one. Among its ripple effects, it shattered fixed perceptions over women’s positionalities and relationship with the state. Using data from semi-structured interviews with Egyptian feminists, the study explores changes that happened to the Egyptian feminist movement, since the revolution, through the participants' narrations. The findings explain the relationships that the six feminist participants have with the post-revolution public domain, how they utilise tools of resistance and how the movement intersects with various other causes rooted in challenging systems of oppression.

Abstract
The 25 January Revolution in Egypt was a pivotal event for Egyptian society; it irreversibly reinvented the dynamic of Egyptian social movements, specifically the feminist one. Among its ripple effects, it shattered fixed perceptions over women’s positionalities and relationship with the state. Using data from semi-structured interviews with Egyptian feminists, the study explores changes that happened to the Egyptian feminist movement, since the revolution, through the participants' narrations. The findings explain the relationships that the six feminist participants have with the post-revolution public domain, how they utilise tools of resistance and how the movement intersects with various other causes rooted in challenging systems of oppression.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
