L'italiano dei podcast: analisi culturale e linguistica di una nuova narrazione orale

My thesis aims to analyse a 'new' oral phenomenon, that of podcasts. In the age of the image, we could almost consider it countercultural to choose to entertain/discuss through orality. Yet, it seems that this is indeed the golden age of podcasts. The thesis proceeds with an introductory chapter illustrating the birth and development of the phenomena and the juxtaposition with other audio media; the second chapter focuses on the differences between spoken and written language, in order to lay the foundations for the linguistic analysis proper, which will be done in the third and final chapter. The differences and similarities between written and spoken language help us to understand how much of each language there is in podcasts. This is because the podcast is properly an audio format but has some peculiarities of the written language, especially in certain types. The analysis in the third chapter deals precisely with this: through an accurate transcription of some fragments of 5 podcasts, we see in detail how many elements of spoken Italian (analysed in the previous chapter) are present in the various types of podcasts analysed and, consequently, how much these podcasts can be defined as belonging to the world of the spoken and the written.

La mia tesi vuole analizzare un "nuovo" fenomeno orale, quello dei podcast. Nell'era dell'immagine, potremmo quasi considerare controcorrente scegliere di intrattenere/divulgare tramite l'oralità. Eppure, sembra proprio che questo sia il periodo d'oro dei podcast. La tesi procede con un capitolo di introduzione che illustra la nascita e lo sviluppo dei fenomeni e l'accostamento ad altri mezzi di comunicazione audio; il secondo capitolo si focalizza sulle differenze tra lingua parlata e lingua scritta, per gettare le basi dell'analisi linguistica vera e propria che verrà fatta nel terzo e ultimo capitolo. Le differenze e le similitudini tra lingua scritta e lingua parlata ci aiutano a comprendere quanto vi sia di una e l'altra lingua nei podcast. Sì perché il podcast è propriamente un formato audio ma presenta alcune particolarità della lingua scritta, specie in alcuni tipi. L'analisi del terzo capitolo si occupa proprio di questo: attraverso un'accurata trascrizione di alcuni frammenti di 5 podcast, si vede nel dettaglio quanti elementi dell'italiano parlato (analizzati nel capitolo precedente) sono presenti nei vari tipi di podcast analizzati e, di conseguenza, quanto questi podcast possano definirsi appartenenti al mondo del parlato e dello scritto.
