The U.S.-China trade war has had a significant impact on the manufacturing sector of both countries. The tariffs imposed by both countries have increased costs and made it more difficult for companies to export their products. They have also disrupted global supply chains, making it more expensive to import goods from China. This has led to shortages of some products, disrupted production for companies, and forced them to close factories and lay off workers all over the world. This master's thesis aims to explore the complex consequences of the trade war for the manufacturing sector of the United States and China. It will also provide an overview of the general course of the trade war, the tariffs imposed, and the global and individual economic impacts. The thesis will be divided into three main parts. The first part will provide a comprehensive review of existing literature on trade wars and its impacts and consequences, international economics in relation to trade wars, and financial key figures. The second part will employ empirical analysis, drawing on data from Orbis, a comprehensive global database providing business information and company data for effective financial analysis and decision-making, to quantify the impact of the trade war on the financial performance of the top 50 manufacturing companies in both countries. The third part of the thesis will discuss the global, economic, and political consequences of the trade war. The findings of this thesis will contribute to a better understanding of the impact of the U.S.-China trade war on the manufacturing sector. It will also provide valuable insights for policymakers and businesses on global consequences of future trade wars.

Abstract
It will also provide valuable insights for policymakers and businesses on global consequences of future trade wars.È consentito all'utente scaricare e condividere i documenti disponibili a testo pieno in UNITESI UNIPV nel rispetto della licenza Creative Commons del tipo CC BY NC ND.
