The legal audit of accounts is a fundamental element in ensuring transparency and reliability of corporate financial information. This study aims to explore the process of legal audit of accounts in the insurance industry, with a particular focus on the case of Verti Assicurazioni S.p.A. The first chapter addresses the purposes and mandatory nature of legal audit, identifies the entity responsible for this crucial activity, and analyzes the key principles of ISA (International Standards on Auditing) regarding auditor independence, quality control procedures, and materiality in the audit process. In the second chapter, practical aspects of conducting an audit of the income statement are examined, including risk assessment and the internal control system. Revision procedures in response to identified risks are explored in detail, with a specific focus on compliance and validity procedures. The letter of representation and the audit report on the income statement are also analyzed in detail. The third chapter focuses on insurance balance sheets and typical audit procedures. It examines the reading of insurance balance sheets, the logic and principles guiding them, and the revision procedures used to gather evidential matter. Additionally, control procedures for testing the accuracy and existence of items in the assets and liabilities of non-life insurance balance sheets are explored, including bank circularization, external legal confirmations, and checks on the existence of portfolio securities. Finally, the fourth chapter provides a detailed analysis of the case study of Verti Assicurazioni S.p.A., presenting an overview of the company and an analytical review of the Balance Sheet and Income Statement. Key insurance indices, such as Loss ratio, Commission ratio, Expense ratio, and Combined ratio, are also analyzed. This study offers a comprehensive overview of the legal audit of accounts in the insurance industry and contributes to a deep understanding of the audit practices employed, through the analysis of a concrete case like Verti Assicurazioni S.p.A.
La revisione legale dei conti rappresenta un elemento fondamentale nell'ambito della trasparenza e dell'affidabilità delle informazioni finanziarie aziendali. Questo studio si propone di esplorare il processo di revisione legale dei conti nei settori assicurativi, con un'attenzione particolare al caso di Verti Assicurazioni S.p.A. Il primo capitolo affronta le finalità e l'obbligatorietà della revisione legale, identificando il soggetto incaricato di questa importante attività e analizzando i principali principi di revisione ISA (International Standards on Auditing), con un focus sull'indipendenza del revisore, le procedure di controllo della qualità e la significatività nel processo di revisione. Infine, il quarto capitolo offre un'analisi dettagliata del caso di studio di Verti Assicurazioni S.p.A., presentando un'overview della società e un analytical review dello Stato Patrimoniale e del Conto Economico. Vengono analizzati anche gli indici assicurativi chiave, come il Loss ratio, il Commission ratio, l'Expense ratio e il Combined ratio. Questo studio offre una panoramica completa della revisione legale dei conti nei settori assicurativi e contribuisce a una comprensione approfondita delle pratiche di revisione utilizzate, attraverso l'analisi di un caso concreto come Verti Assicurazioni S.p.A.
