Caring for a person with dementia can be emotionally and physically demanding, often leading to high levels of stress and burden for caregivers. Psychoeducational interventions aim to support caregivers by providing information about dementia, emotional support, and practical coping strategies. This study evaluates the effectiveness of the Ricor-Dare caregiver intervention, a structured psychoeducational program designed to reduce caregiver burden and improve caregiver efficacy. A pre and post intervention design was used to measure changes in caregiver burden and perceived competence. The results show a reduction in caregiver burden after participation in the program, along with improvements in caregivers’ sense of efficacy. These findings suggest that psychoeducational interventions can play an important role in supporting caregivers of individuals with dementia.Overall, the Ricor-Dare project highlights the importance of structured support programs in improving caregiver wellbeing and strengthening their ability to provide care.
