Cinematherapy utilizes movies as therapeutic tools, whereas bibliotherapy consists in the use of books for therapeutic purposes. The aim of the present work is to analyze the modalities behind the interventions and compare them through the analysis of their underlying mechanisms and methodologies. A literature search was conducted across various databases, yielding a selection of studies going from 1990 to 2023. The research questions regard the target populations, intervention modalities and outcome results. A synthesis of current evidence on cinematherapy and bibliotherapy is provided, shedding light on their similarities and differences and offering insight into them. Results deriving from the studies are positive and show promising consequences for the subjects. The findings encourage further research and clinical exploration of these valuable tools in mental health practice. Keywords: cinematherapy, bibliotherapy, story, insight, identification, narrative therapies.

Abstract
Keywords: cinematherapy, bibliotherapy, story, insight, identification, narrative therapies.È consentito all'utente scaricare e condividere i documenti disponibili a testo pieno in UNITESI UNIPV nel rispetto della licenza Creative Commons del tipo CC BY NC ND.
