This work covers such a difficult topic as cooperation between the Soviet Union and the People's Republic of China during the early and middle stage of the Cold War and is aimed at a progressive analysis of the dynamics of the development of relations between these two states, covering the period from 1931, when the Chinese region Manchuria was occupied by Japan, to 1964, when the PRC successfully detonated their first nuclear bomb. The study attempts to cover all major historical events of this period, including the Civil War and the Japanese invasion of China, the first Sino- Soviet treaty, the Korean War, the Taiwan and Cuban crises, and also the general framework of the period of active cooperation between the two countries in the 50s. The thesis systematically presents the geopolitical motives, security issues and military strategies of the actors, which afterwards affected the realities of the Cold War and the process of cooperation between the USSR and the People's Republic of China. To form this research work, were used various methodologies, such as, detailed study of archive documents, memoirs, diplomatic correspondence and analysis of scientific papers. By using those, this thesis seeks to contribute to the study of the broad scientific field of the history of the Cold War, giving a special attention to the problem of the subsequently unsound cooperation between the USSR and the People's Republic of China.

Abstract
By using those, this thesis seeks to contribute to the study of the broad scientific field of the history of the Cold War, giving a special attention to the problem of the subsequently unsound cooperation between the USSR and the People's Republic of China.È consentito all'utente scaricare e condividere i documenti disponibili a testo pieno in UNITESI UNIPV nel rispetto della licenza Creative Commons del tipo CC BY NC ND.
