Fra anima e corpo: l'ars medica cassiodorea

The present research aims to analyze the medical themes found across all of Cassiodorus' works—excluding his historiographical ones—and, consistently, the vocabulary employed by the author to address them. In studying the passages concerning diseases, the duties of the physician, anatomy, and the five senses, particular attention has been directed to their rhetorical and lexical analysis, as well as to the possibility of both thematic and stylistic comparisons with other authors, not exclusively technical ones.

La presente ricerca si propone di analizzare le tematiche mediche presenti in tutte le opere di Cassiodoro - escluse quelle storiografiche - e, coerentemente, il lessico adoperato dall'autore per trattarle. Nello studio dei passi concernenti le malattie, i doveri del medico, l'anatomia e i cinque sensi, è stata indirizzata particolare attenzione all'analisi retorica e lessicale degli stessi e alla possibilità di confronti tanto tematici quanto stilistici con altri autori, non solo tecnici. ​
