This Master’s thesis examines the Old French manuscript BnF, fr. 24406 (siglum V), a witness dating back to the second half of the thirteenth century and transmissible to the Francian area. The research aims to investigate its scripta to isolate the distinct linguistic strata within the textual tradition and determine the scribal impact on the transmission of Lyric Oil poetry. Adopting an interdisciplinary methodology, the study combines the principles of Romance philology with Digital Humanities workflows. In the first phase, the entire chansonnier was subjected to semi-automatic diplomatic transcription using the Transkribus HTR (Handwritten Text Recognition) platform, following the iterative training of a palaeographical model calibrated to the specific littera textualis of the artifact. From the established text, an authorial corpus was extracted, comprising the sections dedicated to Thibaut de Champagne, Moniot d’Arras, Guillebert de Berneville, Eustache le Peintre, Richart de Semilli, and Adam de la Halle, for which an interpretive edition was prepared. A diagnostic linguistic questionnaire, developed from the descriptive parameters of Greub and Collet’s Manuel pratique, was then applied to these texts to verify the geolinguistic localization and the grapho-phonetic behavior of the two hands identified in the codex. The analysis demonstrates a strong coherence of the witness with the Francian hypothesis, ruling out the presence of a Picard coloring, thereby offering a rigorous methodological contribution to the study of the active role of scribes in medieval lyric.
