Skin ageing is a multifactorial process involving cellular and tissue changes influenced by intrinsic and extrinsic factors. Within this context, cellular senescence and the hallmarks of ageing provide a framework for understanding ageing mechanisms and guiding the selection of ingredients of cosmetic interest. This thesis aimed to develop three complementary cosmetic formulations: an emulsified serum, a cream with a soft and elastic texture, and a biocellulose sheet mask. Active ingredients were selected by examining their potential involvement in processes associated with skin ageing, with particular attention to cellular senescence, oxidative stress and cellular metabolism. The experimental work included prototype preparation and optimisation, the characterisation of selected physicochemical parameters, and the assessment of sensory properties, taking ingredient compatibility and the intended use of each product into account. The work highlights the importance of integrating the scientific rationale for active ingredient selection with the development of suitable vehicles and sensory properties consistent with the intended application. These findings provide a preliminary basis for further studies on stability, consumer acceptance and efficacy. The ability of the finished products to prevent cellular senescence was not experimentally assessed and remains to be investigated through specific studies.

Abstract
The ability of the finished products to prevent cellular senescence was not experimentally assessed and remains to be investigated through specific studies.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
