The Cornegliano Laudense field (Lodi), discovered by AGIP in 1951 and decommissioned as a production field in 1997, was converted starting in 2016 into an underground gas storage facility operated by IGS S.p.A. The proper functioning of a gas storage facility largely depends on well performance, as wells represent the elements through which gas injection and production operations are carried out. For this reason, assessing well performance is essential to ensuring the operational capacity, safety, and reliability of the entire system. This thesis fits within this context and is characterized by a strongly applied approach. Through the analysis of the available operating data, an assessment of the performance of individual wells was carried out, with particular focus on their injection capacity, in order to characterize their behavior and support more efficient management of storage operations. Although wells represent the elements through which storage operations are performed, their behavior is closely related to the characteristics of the reservoir system as a whole. After introducing the study area, with particular emphasis on the geological, structural, and stratigraphic characteristics of the Cornegliano Laudense reservoir, the methodologies adopted for data collection and analysis are described. The datasets include several operating parameters, such as flow rate, pressure, and gas volumes. Particular attention is devoted to the determination of the Injectivity Index and the main operating variables used to assess well performance during injection operations. The Injectivity Index represents a fundamental parameter for evaluating the ability of a well to inject natural gas under given operating conditions. This parameter relates the injection rate (Q) to the pressure difference between the bottomhole and the reservoir (∆p), thereby providing an indication of the efficiency of the injection process and the response of the well–reservoir system. To calculate the Injectivity Index for each well from the data available in the corresponding datasets, automated procedures were developed and implemented using VBA macros in Microsoft Excel. The adopted procedure also offers the advantage of being easily repeatable and standardized, making it potentially applicable to the determination and analysis of additional operating parameters related to the wells. The results of the analysis are presented through graphs showing the evolution of the Injectivity Index over the different injection seasons considered. In particular, the analysis focused on the summer period, from June to August, during which the injection campaigns for the years 2023, 2024, and 2025 were considered. A further stage of the analysis involved comparing the individual wells based on the Injectivity Index and the Gas Inventory, defined as the cumulative volume of gas stored in the reservoir. Finally, a statistical analysis based on linear regression was performed to investigate the existence of a direct correlation between the two parameters, Injectivity Index and Gas Inventory, identifying the wells in which this relationship is most evident. From a future perspective, the analysis could be further developed by integrating the correlation between the parameters considered with additional operating variables and the dynamic characteristics of the reservoir. This would provide a better understanding of the interactions between the wells and the reservoir and contribute to improving the control, monitoring, and management of the facility.

Abstract
The Cornegliano Laudense field (Lodi), discovered by AGIP in 1951 and decommissioned as a production field in 1997, was converted starting in 2016 into an underground gas storage facility operated by IGS S.p.A. The proper functioning of a gas storage facility largely depends on well performance, as wells represent the elements through which gas injection and production operations are carried out.
