From the origins of the word disability, it can be observed that this term has assumed different connotations over time. In my thesis I suggest definitions of impairment, disability and handicap elaborated by OMS, which made clear the distinction between these terms often used as synonyms. I have proceeded with the analysis of the changes that have occurred since 1970 within the Italian regulatory framework in the right to education of people with disabilities. With the same method I then observe the innovations in the Italian school model and the progress that has been made regarding the integration of disabled students within the school. An important contribution in this process of integration has been made by the use of new technologies as training aids. Considering the fact that more and more disabled students continue their studies, even after obtaining a high school diploma, and taking into account the importance for these people to be able to attend university, I have analyzed how such structures are adapting to welcome these students.

Abstract
Considering the fact that more and more disabled students continue their studies, even after obtaining a high school diploma, and taking into account the importance for these people to be able to attend university, I have analyzed how such structures are adapting to welcome these students.È consentito all'utente scaricare e condividere i documenti disponibili a testo pieno in UNITESI UNIPV nel rispetto della licenza Creative Commons del tipo CC BY NC ND.
