Financial flows, focus on remittances in Africa

Throughout the thesis, it will be explained the main different monetary flows directing towards the developed and developing countries. We will go through the FDI, the portfolio investment, the international aid: ODA and finally remittances. After settling the basis of those financial flows by studying their geographical trends and posing both how they are a source of development and their constraints the thesis will be axed toward the last financial flow: the remittance. Throughout the rest of the thesis it will be explained what the remittances are, which are the factors that act upon those financial flows and their impact on the receiving country. A focus will be put on the African continent and its relationships with remittances. The thesis will end on the analysis of the impact of the remittance of two Sub-Saharan countries who rely largely on remittance for their development. To conclude the thesis, the vital importance of the remittances for some countries and their impact on the social, financial and economic development of those countries will be explained in depth

In tutta la tesi verranno spiegati i principali flussi monetari diretti verso i paesi sviluppati e in via di sviluppo. Passeremo attraverso l'IDE, l'investimento del portafoglio, l'aiuto internazionale: l'ODA e infine le rimesse estere. Dopo aver sistemato le basi di quei flussi finanziari studiando le loro tendenze geografiche e ponendo sia come siano una fonte di sviluppo sia i loro vincoli, la tesi sarà orientata verso l'ultimo flusso finanziario: la rimessa estera. Durante il resto della tesi verrà spiegato quali sono le rimesse, quali sono i fattori che agiscono su quei flussi finanziari e il loro impatto sul paese ricevente. Un focus sarà messo sul continente africano e le sue relazioni con le rimesse. La tesi si concluderà sull'analisi dell'impatto della rimessa di due paesi dell'Africa sub-sahariana che si basano in gran parte sulla rimessa per il loro sviluppo. Per concludere la tesi, l'importanza vitale delle rimesse per alcuni paesi e il loro impatto sullo sviluppo sociale, finanziario ed economico di tali paesi saranno spiegati in modo approfondito
