When it comes to the employment of reproductive technologies, the usual aim is to have a healthy or even enhanced child. But is the opposite situation possible? Does controlling the genetic makeup allow us to select for the worse? Referring to the case of Gauvin, a child born deaf because he was intentionally selected for his condition, the thesis will explore the possibility of selection for disability through the analysis of the main themes of reproduction, meaning harm, identity affecting choice, autonomy, quality of life and disability. The final purpose is to demonstrate that not only selection for disablity is morally legit, but it also falls in the domain of the right to procreative liberty.
