Una difficile transizione nel Papato contemporaneo: da Paolo VI a Giovanni Paolo II

The present thesis deals with investigating the transition that took place in the papacy during 1978, with the succession from the Church of Paul VI to that of John Paul II, passing through the Pontificate of John Paul I. The first chapters are dedicated to this particular historical phase. of the work, contextualizing the decade, changes in the world and ecclesiastical transformations. Moreover, through the study of Italian and foreign magazines and parish bulletins of the time, the analysis reconstructed the assimilation of the transition at local, national and international level. What emerges is a complex picture, with aspects common to each stratum and profound diversities dictated by various reasons.

La presente tesi si occupa di indagare sulla transizione avvenuta nel Papato durante il 1978, con la successione dalla Chiesa di Paolo VI a quella di Giovanni Paolo II, passando attraverso il Pontificato di Giovanni Paolo I. A questa particolare fase storica vengono dedicati i primi capitoli dell’opera, contestualizzando il decennio, i cambiamenti nel mondo e le trasformazioni ecclesiastiche. Inoltre, attraverso lo studio di riviste italiane ed estere e dei bollettini parrocchiali dell’epoca, l’analisi ha ricostruito l’assimilazione della transizione a livello locale, nazionale e internazionale. Ne emerge un quadro complesso, con aspetti comuni ad ogni strato e profonde diversità dettate da varie ragioni.
