In recent years the development of ecosystems has been a central topic in social and economic field, especially digital ones. The purpose of this thesis work is to clarify what they are. A definition of the term will be offered starting from its biological meaning, passing to the economic one and concluding with the definition of territorial environment. In this context, the difference between the systemic approach and the ecosystem model will be explained. The evolution of ecosystems that have embraced different areas throughout history will also be addressed, with the common goal of promoting innovation. The peculiar elements of the ecosystem will also be studied, which are necessary conditions for the creation of a digital ecosystem along with the benefits deriving from participation in it. Subsequently, the territory will be discussed, proposing a definition from an economic and social point of view. The possible actors of the latter and of the network will be identified in order to create an ecosystem perspective. Technologies will also be examined with the purpose of facilitating the development of the territory. Looking at the past two years, the COVID-19 pandemic will be addressed. There will be an analysis of the direct and indirect economic effects suffered by businesses, the public administration, the education and the culture and there will be a focus on how these have had to be reorganized to cope with the crisis. The focus will be on accelerating digital as a consequence of the pandemic. Finally, the foundations will be laid for the creation of a digital ecosystem platform for student orientation. The purpose of the platform, completely innovative, is to help young people find the best way to reach the set goal.

Abstract
The purpose of the platform, completely innovative, is to help young people find the best way to reach the set goal.È consentito all'utente scaricare e condividere i documenti disponibili a testo pieno in UNITESI UNIPV nel rispetto della licenza Creative Commons del tipo CC BY NC ND.
