Il ruolo dell’Unione europea e dell’Organizzazione delle Nazioni Unite nell’interazione e nel coordinamento multilaterale nel sistema internazionale

The thesis analyses the role of the European Union and the United Nations in the contemporary multilateral system, with particular attention to the forms of interaction and coordination developed between the two organisations. The aim is to understand how cooperation between the EU and the UN contributes to the functioning of global governance and to addressing the main international challenges. The evolution of multilateralism and the role progressively assumed by the two organisations on the international stage are also considered, with particular focus on the main instruments of cooperation and on forms of institutional and diplomatic coordination. The thesis also examines the most recent transformations of the multilateral system and the future prospects for the relationship between the European Union and the United Nations.

La tesi analizza il ruolo dell’Unione europea e dell’Organizzazione delle Nazioni Unite nel sistema multilaterale contemporaneo, con particolare attenzione alle forme di interazione e coordinamento sviluppate tra le due organizzazioni. L’obiettivo è comprendere in che modo la cooperazione tra l’Unione europea e l’Organizzazione delle Nazioni Unite contribuisca al funzionamento della governance globale e alla gestione delle principali sfide internazionali.Vengono presi in considerazione l’evoluzione del multilateralismo e il ruolo assunto nel tempo dalle due organizzazioni sulla scena internazionale, soffermandosi in particolare sugli strumenti di cooperazione e sulle forme di coordinamento istituzionale e diplomatico. Vengono inoltre considerate le trasformazioni più recenti del sistema multilaterale e le prospettive future del rapporto tra l’Unione europea e l’Organizzazione delle Nazioni Unite.
