Dal Citizen Journalism al Self-Publishing: come si diventa giornalisti e autori nell'era digitale

The thesis examines the impact of digitalisation on journalism and publishing, with particular attention to changes in the processes of content production and distribution, forms of mediation, and the relationship with audiences. On the one hand, the study explores the evolution of digital journalism and citizen journalism; on the other, it investigates transformations in the publishing value chain, self-publishing, and online publishing platforms. Part of the research will be devoted to analysing the practices, actors, and perceptions associated with these phenomena. Finally, the comparison between the two fields will make it possible to examine their similarities and differences, the role of digital platforms, the main critical issues, and the emergence of new models of production and participation.

La tesi analizza l’impatto della digitalizzazione sul giornalismo e sull’editoria, con particolare attenzione ai cambiamenti nei processi di produzione e diffusione dei contenuti, nelle forme di mediazione e nel rapporto con il pubblico. Il lavoro approfondisce, da un lato, l’evoluzione del giornalismo digitale e del citizen journalism e, dall’altro, le trasformazioni della filiera editoriale, del self-publishing e delle piattaforme di pubblicazione online. Una parte della ricerca sarà dedicata all’analisi di pratiche, attori e percezioni legate a questi fenomeni. Il confronto tra i due ambiti permetterà infine di esaminare convergenze e differenze, il ruolo delle piattaforme digitali, le principali criticità e l’emergere di nuovi modelli di produzione e partecipazione.
