The first chapter investigates the topic of evidence-based culture and its implications in the field of Preventive Science. Especially, it provides a brief overview of the main criteria by which an intervention can be defined as effective, i.e., the Standards of Evidence. The following section provides a descriptive study of major evidence-based interventions addressed to those parents who are raising children and adolescents, distinguishing between attachment-based parent training programs and cognitive-behavioral parent training programs. The description is accompanied by the illustration of the implications that such interventions have in terms of behavior and of mental mechanisms. The second part of this paper examines how to foster and support parenting by using evidence-based video feedback, and specifically includes a description of the VIPP-SD (Video-Feedback Intervention to Promote Positive Parenting and Sensitive Discipline) Protocol. The third chapter offers an experiential application of the VIPP-SD Protocol in a Normative Family context.
Nel primo capitolo viene affrontato il tema della cultura evidence-based e delle importanti implicazioni che essa comporta nel campo della Preventive Science, in particolare, si propone una breve rassegna dei principali criteri che consentono di definire l’efficacia di un intervento, gli Standards of Evidence. Segue una descrizione dei maggiori interventi evidence-based rivolti a genitori di bambini e di adolescenti, con una distinzione tra i programmi di parent training basati sull’attaccamento e i programmi di parent training a orientamento cognitivo-comportamentale, con un’illustrazione degli effetti positivi che questa tipologia di interventi comporta in termini di comportamenti e meccanismi mentali. La seconda parte del testo è dedicata alla promozione e al supporto delle competenze genitoriali attraverso l’utilizzo delle procedure di video-feedback evidence-based, nello specifico, si descrive il protocollo VIPP-SD (Video-Feedback Intervention to Promote Positive Parenting and Sensitive Discipline). Nel terzo capitolo si propone un’applicazione esperienziale del protocollo VIPP-SD nel contesto di una famiglia normativa.
