This thesis examines how digital reputation is built for a new beverage product through the B2B launch of Sambrì and Sambriz, two aromatised wine-based drinks produced by Dispensa Rubini. The case involves a twofold challenge. First, the products do not belong to any category recognised by the Italian market. Second, the name that would make them immediately understandable, "sangria", is reserved by EU law for products made in Spain and Portugal, and it also carries an ambivalent reputation. The research is designed as a single case study with an interdisciplinary approach combining marketing and law. It draws on company sources, participant observation in company-owned venues, legal sources and statistical data, and compares the case with two benchmarks, Italicus and Lolea. The findings show that the product is desirable and is chosen mainly during meals as a substitute for wine. However, it generates consumption without recognition: the public does not associate the product with the company. Brand memory is built through repeated experience rather than storytelling. The initial hypothesis, that the regulatory constraint pushes the company towards a better choice, is only partially confirmed. The constraint required a distinctive fancy trademark and avoided the category's negative reputation, but its benefits require a continuity over time that has not yet been achieved. The fragmentation of the company's identity also emerges as the main obstacle. The thesis concludes with an operational plan for 2026-2027.

Abstract

Building Digital Reputation in the B2B Launch of a New Product: The Case of Sambrì and Sambriz in the Beverage Sector
